  1. Not sure I'm going to make it tomorrow.
  2. I'll have to give them a look sometime when I'm in the area.
  3. Well, if I did it right it should be attached here. Float_Plan_.pdf
  4. Thanks Rob.....sounds good. And, Thank you Scott for an informative workshop.
  5. oops!!!!!! That was me. Those are the clubs items. Did anyone grab them or are they still there?
  6. Thanks for posting Rob...I've got some expired ones that should go.
  7. Thanks Suz....and everyone else for the advice. gore-tex socks would be my first choice but I'm also interested in quick turn around so that could influence where I send the suit. Suz, I'll do some google research to see if I can find the western shop. So it will be either gore-tex socks or latex socks. I do hate those #@%&ing ankle gaskets. My advice to anyone contemplating their first drysuit would be to buy the best one they can afford and don't skimp on features.
  8. Thanks Gay, I'd definitely prefer booties...just not sure about the comfort and durability of the latex version.
  9. Time to get my drysuit re-gasketed. I can get either ankle gaskets or latex booties. Has anyone had experience...either positive or negative...with the latex booties? Thanks in advance for any input.
  10. I'll be there. Thanks for doing this Scott.
  11. I pretty much agree with Peter's approach. I've been using "Bonine" with good results and no drowsiness. I also use it whenever going out on the ocean. The Rite aid stuff may be cheaper though...I'll have to give it a try.
  12. John, That's just awesome! Thank you so much for posting this information and for putting on the presentation.
  13. Aside from the disks....let's not forget that an unknown amount of raw sewage was also released. My understanding of the disks is that they're not widely used and are simply a cheaper alternative to other systems. And, e-coli or not....I don't really see millions of plastic disks (trash) as no big deal...nor do I see them as beautiful or wonderful. Just my humble opinion.
  14. Took a walk at PI point near the river mouth today after John Huth's workshop...saw hundreds of the disks on a short stretch of beach.
  15. Change of plans...doesn't look like I'll be making it tomorrow. Sounds like it's shaping up to be a great workshop.....have fun.
  16. Is it me? Or do these "ideas" just keep getting worse? Thanks for posting this Jason.
  17. Looking forward to it...and I could do either day....slight preference for Sunday.
  18. John, I think there would be a great deal of interest in any of that information. Personally I'd be most interested in the boat control and weather presentations but I'd show up to learn more about any of the above subject matter. Thanks again for sharing so much information with us all.
  19. I have some club paper goods (table cloths...bowls and plates...etc) I'll bring them along as well as something to eat and the NSPN E-Z up to display.
  20. Julie, No need to sign up.....just show up. Since the workshop will be spanning the middle of the day we're planning a pot luck lunch, if you'd care to bring something to share.
  21. Bob, Welcome to the club! In the spring NSPN puts on a "New to sea kayaking" workshop. The workshop is free to members and non-members alike. It will be a good place to gather information on safety, boats, equipment, safety, places to paddle, safety, to meet others to paddle with....and ...did I mention safety? Also, once we have enough evening daylight there will be postings for lake, skill sessions scattered around the area. You shouldn't have any trouble finding people willing to give you advice and help you develop some basic skills. What area do you live in? See you on the water,
