Thank you Christopher for moving the conversation away from the "ridden hard put away wet" track...
I like "Clara". I did name my boat; but I can't remember what I named her. And I did have a "proper" christening with Irish whiskey, sage and a blessing.
Good luck with your boat, Rick. What are you getting?
Oops, and here I am to fulfill my promise to find that Phil was able to do so in a more timely fashion. Thanks, Phil. Sorry, Christopher. PS: I am busy working on pulling together the other info I promised you as well.
Doug, such a great topic, thanks for getting the conversation going!
Pru, good to know about the noise factor of the Exped mat; I shall choose my sleeping companions very carefully :-)
Any specific recommendations regarding a camp stove??
Welcome to the world of Sea Kayaking!
Folks here are very helpful and knowledgeable, as you can see.
If you have a boat available to you please consider taking advantage of one of the pool sessions. Once the warmer weather rolls around skill sessions are offered in a few locations.
Looking forward to seeing you on the water,
Katherine
Hey,
I am on vacation this week and am looking forward to joining you all Wednesday night.
Can someone provide me with an address so I can plug it into my GPS. I the put-in place easy to find?
Can't wait!
Hi,
There aren't any directions to Gloucester Harbor on the "Put-Ins" page. Could/would someone provide directions and Christopher are we changing launch sites?
Kaherine
Hi Jason, I have the DVD and would be happy to let you borrow it. I'm sure we can make arrangements through Suz or any of the Walden Pond crew. I ma be at Walden Pond the week of the 21st as well. Katherine
Hi Jeff,
WELCOME!
Suz directed you to a great list. It can be overwhelming especially if you thought all you would need is a boat, paddle and PFD The lake sessions are great as are some of the other paddles.
Have fun!
