  1. Hi Bob, I too owned a Lincoln Chebeague for 9 years, and I loved it. Two years after the Lincoln purchase I bought a kayak that was more for Sea Kayaking in open water, but held on to that boat until last summer and still used it for marsh, lake, and protected coastal exploration. Last September I traded it in. You are on the right forum. Beth has good gear advice in the post above mine. Enjoy and be safe. Nancy

  3. No I didn't paddle, but got some pretty pics.
  4. This is what it looked like at lowish tide today. A few floaters, but the three spaces by the path were open and clear to park.
  5. Was so glad I was able to be in boat. Thanks, Doug for letting me know of space :-)
  6. Amusing. I feel your pain... And Pru, I'm sure being there feels great!
  7. A few candid pics from the party. Thanks to the Holiday Party Committee for doing a fantastic job.
  8. I love Lake George. Upstate NY has a completely different feel than New England. Thanks for sharing a cool report, Peter. Love Lake George, Finger Lakes Region, etc. Grew up on Lake Erie, so I do Lakes :-)
  9. Cake or cupcakes or pie. And a pint or two of ice cream.
  10. Hoping to see you Mr. Pintail (depending on if I can make it, myself ;-)
  11. Thought I replied to other thread but don't see it now. I can't do Sunday. Hope you have a good time.
  12. Sounds fun as always! The food is always great. Sure we'll be signing up for various things in the coming weeks. Hummm. Probably cookies and beer for me.
  13. Shari, I lost one on the Squam trip, maybe we have a pair still (lol).
  14. I assume you got my email, I'm in too. :-)
  15. Italy, Greece, San Francisco Bay, Pacific NW / Vancouver. And I'd love to go to Lake Superior with you! Grew up on Erie and visited Lake Superior every summer when I was small.
  16. Wow, nice pics, guys. And I was sorry to miss anything resembling northern lights down in MA, but you must have just missed it. Who cares (about the lights) if the trip was great.
  17. Re: woman's research: Maybe they "release" a little inadvertently. She said it rarely happens. After seeing the sunfish she was quite interested and read as much as she could find, but who knows her sources. Apparently they are pretty much left alone, so maybe we will be seeing more and more if the ocean temps continue to rise around here.
  18. I'm a regular at Farnham's (my worst vice), and the lady that works there is a photographer. She came over to me and showed me a picture of one (whe knows I'm a kayaker). She has seen five off her boat in the past several weeks. Funny that she came to show me the pic, though. She says they can spray a poison if threatened, but that they are generally very tame and somewhat dim.
  19. Great trip photos and report, Kate. Thanks for sharing!
