  1. This trip is separate from the one that Peter and Rob are hosting up in MDI on the same dates. I am leading a trip around MDI, leaving early Friday morning on the 11th and returning the 13th/14th depending in the group. If you have interest in this trip, please send me a PM (the PM will verify your NSPN membership) for additional details. In your PM, if I have not paddled with you before, please provide a BRIEF synopsis of your paddling experience.
  2. This is from the park's site: "By Car: Lynnway (Rt. 1A) to Carroll Parkway to Nahant Rotary and, then, either Nahant Causeway to boat launch and Long Beach at Nahant Beach Reservation, or, Lynn Shore Drive to Red Rock Park and King's Beach at Lynn Shore Reservation."
  3. Beautiful 2-3ft spilling waves today...park fee is $5
  4. Planning on playing in the surf for a few hours on Friday starting at noon. Long Beach. There is a parking fee for this beach. Post or PM if planning on coming. lynnshoremap.pdf
  5. Paul, A couple of hours sounds good. See you there.
  6. I just sent out 3 new opportunities for Thurs., Fri., and Sunday of this week. If interested, send me an email and I'll forward the information.
  7. A tad late, but the trip report can be found here.
  8. I 've sent out an email about this week to those who have provided emails by PM.
  9. Locations vary...send me a pm with your email and I will add you to the list...
  10. I've sent out the next three training opps to those who have sent me a PM expressing interest. Not too late to join but you must be a paid up member of NSPN to do so. Last weekend in York was a blast! Trip report to follow soon.
  11. Not sure what happened there. The cart Andy references is called the Wheel a Weigh. It's a center mount so once the boat is on, all you need do is press down on the stern and move forward. No need to lift the bow at all. Even though you don't need the feature, is does break down completely and fits into the hatches of my Explorer. Sid Cohen also has one.
  12. For those who responded to my PM about providing an email, I just sent you details for the first session.
  13. I am looking for a group of 10-12 paddlers of various skill levels from which I can create groups of at least 4 to attend free training sessions that I am putting together. You need not be able to roll but must have a sea kayak complete with bulkheads and deck lines. If you're interested, please send me a PM. I would prefer that you be a paid up member of NSPN.
  14. They can be found here on my blog.
  15. Godfrey, Planning another one in July...interested?

  17. Just an FYI that I added this to the NSPN calendar as a repeating event.
  18. Come join us at Chebacco Lake Thursdays at 5pm. Practice strokes, rolls, rescues, falling out of your boat, or watching kingfishers. Rick Crangle and I will be there tonight to get the season started. Bring boat, paddle, skirt, PFD, and any new gear you want to test. Dress for immersion; dry suit or wet suit for now. We meet at the boat ramp at the south end of the lake, and hang out in the cove to the left of the ramp. You can either get off 128 at Pine st (exit 16) and head north on the dirt road, or find Chebacco road off Rt 22 in Essex and avoid the dirt. No entrance fees. No rangers to kick us out at the end of the evening, but the mosquitoes do the job just fine.
  19. Only one spot available for this trip but you need to let me know by noon tomorrow if you are interested.
