    question

Hi, I note that there is frequently a statement which accompanies the listing of a s&g: "usual protocols apply". Could someone enlighten me as to what the protocols are? I have a question about the poster showing up for his/her posted s&g and wonder if this issue is included in the "protocols". thanks, maryb, NH

  18. I am planning to be on the Cape Sunday Oct 1 and am looking for folks who would like to engage in skill building at Coast Guard Beach, just north of Orleans. Access is an easy paddle across the Nauset Marsh. Surf, depending on condition, is generally spilling with a good run out. Sandy beach all around. Opportunity to sit on the beach and watch the others if desired. Low tide at about 1:00pm. anyone interested? mesbennett1@adelphia.net UPDATE:Rain etc and lack of response..will return home saturday night and skip sunday. maryb
  19. I would be interested as well, Bob. maryb
  20. Thanks for raising this question. It is reflective of my thoughts as well - not wanting to hold up others while I worked on skill building and not wanting to push the envelop if I did not think there was someone around who would be of help if I got into trouble. (just having someone knowing what I am doing is very supportive!)I have taken several clinics inc rocks and legdes, surf etc BUT it is hard to gain experience on my very nice, but flat, lake. Kevin's s&g for tomorrow is just what I have in mind..going to a place with the intention of practicing. To this end, I have been planning on posting a s&g with focus on skill building and increasing comfort level in surf off the shore of Cape Cod..Nauset inlet just below Coast Guard beach. My thought is to do this next Sunday as some of us will be there on Saturday for the Monomoy paddle. Tides are very favorable for the to/from paddle across Nauset Marsh. (check "private trips" sunday night) Perhaps others would also facilitate practice s&g's. I would do others but I do not know the area around Cape Ann at all. I have paddled Nauset. maryb Explorer LV rail blue/white Mystic yellow/white (on top of a white motor-hut!!! lol)
