  1. Mary, I haven't paddled with you in forever (before you left for Alaska), but will never forget how inspiring you were. I admire your independence, determination, sense of adventure and sense of humor. The funniest memory is from when you gave me a tour of your RV and explained how you had to cut the bed in half to make room for your bike. I'm sure your paddling days are not over, just a bit calmer. Keep enjoying life and inspiring others to do the same. Best to you, Gay
  2. Wow! Always love your photos and trip reports! Gay
  3. Oh, I think you definately did the right thing and the rangers may have had more connections with getting the bird to a wildlife rehab place, especially since it was injured and banded. I was curious because I have only heard of one place within an hour or so of me that rehabs injured birds, and I don't remember where that place is now. Gay
  4. I don't have the answers to your questions, but had a similar situation with finding a baby bird floating in the Charles River. I picked it up out of the water, but then didn't know what to do with it. Finally....after a long time trying to find someone who could tell me what what I should do or where I could take it, I was sternly told to put it back where I found it and the mother would hopefully find it. Well, putting it back where I found it sounded like a rather bad idea, but it did make sense to put it on shore as close as possible to where I found it (as it could hop around a fly a little bit). But, there was a little bit of current, so I wasn't sure exactly where it came from. Anyway, was wondering if you had any luck with calling someone about what to do? Gay
  5. There is a youth hostel on Nantucket. Google "HI youth hostel Nantucket" and you should find it. Gay
  6. Does anyone know the status of the greenheads right now? Thanks, Gay
  7. Thanks to David for organizing a lovely paddle through the marsh. Great company as usual and perfect weather again!
  8. My vote is for Pavillion and the longer paddle, but will be happy with either. Also, the limited parking could very likely be an issue at Eagle Hill. Gay
  9. It was a lovely day on the water with a great group of ladies to paddle with. Special thanks to Katherine for coordinating and Lorrie and Suz for their leadership. Perfect weather too! Gay
  10. Wow! Beautiful photos and great trip report!
