Huge congrats are in order for Joe Berkowitz who recently successfully assessed for the British Canoe Union's (BCU) Sea Kayak Leader (formerly 4*) award .  The award is no "gimme".  The candidate is assessed over a two day period against a range of factors including:  trip planning , personal paddling skills, rescue and scenario management and leadership.   Not to mention, this was done in a pandemic!

I've personally benefitted from Joe's leadership skills and superb trip planning.

Congratulations Joe!

Joe, you have come a long way from that cold and windy morning on Devereaux Beach not so long ago.  I know that you have worked hard for it - Good job!!

Thanks everyone. I couldn’t have done it without you, where “you” means this club and everyone in it!

And now for some more cold and windy mornings...

Joe! I wish I had known this yesterday to congratulate you in person!

So well deserved. So many of us appreciate your leadership plus the helpful instruction and suggestions.

Well done Joe !  I know this personal achievement took lots of time, study & dedication to the craft of sea kayaking.  I & the Club, through the many posted NSPN events, have benefited from your commitment & enthusiasm. Congrats & Thank You !  Cheers, Sue

Congratulations Joe.

Great news, Joe: congratulations!  (Sorry we haven't paddled this season; but, then, it has been...strange?)

Congratulations!   And thank you for all the tips and trips you have shared.  Awesome job!

Just saw this post so it's belated, but congratulations! And thanks again for all of your many contributions to NSPN and the paddling community.
