  1. Please note, I didn't claim that the sticker was already there when I got to my car!
  2. Wow, that’s low! Hope you find the perp! I was parked next to you on your right and when I looked over while backing out...it was already there.
  3. I rinse off my personal gear, paddles and drysuit in the shower in winter, then carry everything into the boiler room, hang it up on a rack with big bins underneath to catch the excess water and leave everything there over night. Next morning everything is dry enough to get stowed away. I doubt that those few square inches of latex are a major fire hazard but am open to input that states otherwise (I’ve done this x 6 years...not a spark. BTW, I 303 once every 6-8 weeks). If there’s enough room for your kayaks in the basement, that’s where I store mine (double rack). Even better if you store them in the workout room. Nothing is more motivating than a live kayak next to you ?️‍ ”Prudence’s Room”...so jealous ?
  4. Always great to read the story again! Thanks Matt!
  5. I’m sure they’ll put a marker there. It’s quite the hazard now!
  6. Hi Jason, I remember a clockwise paddle round WPI a couple of years ago (with you). If I remember correctly, you told me that the back river was ebbing northwards, possibly related to ledges just south of the WPI Fire Department. I may remember it incorrectly.
  7. I can imagine the roaring that must have been going on there! Helmets are helpful during surf landings....just saying.
  8. I'll be on the MITA-Safari that day, otherwise I would have joined you in a celebratory surf session!
  9. David and Joe, when the shark breached explosively, did it come out vertically or more parallel to the surface? I've been wondering why it did that? Was there a seal or large fish nearby? Could he have gone for the kayak, mistaking it for something edible and missed it accidentally or intentionally changed direction at the last moment, realizing that the kayak isn't edible? Paging marine biologists and budding marine biologists!
  10. The psychological end to summer just turned into the psychological end to paddling around Cape Ann completely without worry. Them Jaws are closing in. Would have liked to see that breach, though. Hoping for a quick cooling off of the Atlantic This also makes IDing the Davids within NSPN easier ( “David’s joining us”. “Which David?” “Shark-David!”)
  11. 2 rockets please (one for New Years Eve), one day night if better pricing on latter.
  12. I seem to remember something about reasonable people and Plum Island...but that was probably a different Plum Island
  13. That's a generous offer, Josko and Mel ! I wish I could come but have other plans this weekend. Maybe another time when the tides and winds align to such fun conditions. To post a trip, you have to be an NSPN member and can then officially post it in the Trip section. Best, Andy
  14. Very nice trip, Joe et. al.! If it happens again next year, I'll join (if I may).
  15. I know they can achieve 5 kn on flat water, but this is against the current.
  16. In order to reach his maximum speed, the punter needs to get that pole off the bottom by pulling it up feeding it through his hands. The interval from force-exertion to force exertion with the pole is much wider than the paddler's. The punter drifts downstream between punt-strokes (????) more than the paddler between paddle-strokes and thus loses ground against the paddler. BTW, if you look like the guy in the kayak you referenced, you're gonna win any race!
