  1. Phil, My wife graciously loans me her minivan from March-November. Its spectacular for gear, passengers and boats. The problem was loading when solo. After some experimentation I settled on the Thule Hullavator. I swear by them. I have mounted two and can carry a third boat in between in a j-cradle. For loading the third boat I've opted for a step stool. I believe in your case one Hullavator (for solo trips) and three J style carriers may be an option worth considering. The only issue I have run into with the Hullavator is the pads fix mounted on the adjustable cradles that contact the hull are rigid and because of the geometry are not ideal. I've compensated for this by covering them with minicell foam. I think it makes for a gentler ride. Cheers! David
  2. Definitely open for this. Will watch the posting.
  3. Thanks for the tips! See you there.
  4. Unless work interferes, I expect to be there. Having never been any details on launch site?
  5. Thanks Phil. Was the work done locally or by Kokatat?
  6. It's time for replacing my gaskets. Does anyone have experience with the "Coast Guard" neck and wrist gaskets. i.e. fit, comfort, and durability versus the standard replacement? Kokatat offers this option.
  7. Joe, Would normally jump at this but am committed elsewhere Sunday. The put-in is very benign and launch friendly. The biggest issue I've experienced is parking. Enjoy!
  8. Spectacular Pru. I'm going to take the tour again tomorrow morning over coffee. Thanks so much for taking the time to share the experience. What a trip! Can't wait til the next one. You have gift!
  9. Just noticed that the current Calendar posting for this event links to the original info sheet that lists the location as Pavillion Beach, can the Calendar link be changed to reflect the new location?
  10. Leon, Over the course of my boating life I've used marine-tex for everything from repairs to an old wooden boat to patching a late season gas tank leak. I've used it on a sea kayak where I had both gel coat, fiberglass and kevlar (keel strip) involvement. That repair was two years ago and it is still holding strong. http://www.boatrepairandmaintenance.com/marine-tex_products.html
  11. Is the Ocean paddle scheduled for this Saturday 6/18 on?

  15. Thanks all for a delightful day. The varying conditions and great company made it a 10. Sign me up for next year!
