  1. Congratulations are due to Deb for gleefully passing her 4* assessment last Wednesday on the warm waters of Tybee Island!!!!

For myself, on Thursday, I was able to perform a stunning example of a beach landing, guaranteed to produce an assessment of "FAILED"!

:headBang: (you are allowed to insert here all the four letter words you can possible imagine I used when finally upright on the beach!)

lol as I write this today and looking forward to getting back on (in?)COLD water!!!!

thanks for the reply Gene, I see that Suwin is joining the paddle out of York. As I have not paddled with her in a while, I have decided to stay in state and Join them at York. paddle again sometime.

  3. Sunday paddle out of Tuck's going North over to Kettle Cove past Singing Beach or if the wind shifts South towards Salem and the Willows. Level 2 to 3 based upon participants. Can increase or decrease distance and add or skip surf. Meet at 10:30AM launch at 11:00AM. RSVP here. Opinions and ideas welcome!

    Put in directions: http://www.nspn.org/put_ins.htm

I am interested in this paddle. How "small and descrete" do we need to be for Tuck's? Will be arriving in my rec hut as it is the only way I have to move my kayak down the road!

  5. Hi all,

Just a reminder of the Oyster River, New Hampshire Level 2 Paddle this Sunday! I note that there is something wrong with the calendar (no information in the postings!) so I am including the details. The name of the put in is Jackson's Landing! This is a very pretty paddle!

I am leaving my home tonight so do not bother to email me of you have not already indicated an interest. If I do not already have your information, I will need your ACA #, and an emergency phone number, and of course a description of your boat when you arrive! Launching at 11am!

    WHEN:

Date/Launch Time: Sunday, July 22. Meet at Durham Boat Ramp 10:15am ready to launch at 11:00am.

Intended Return Date/Time: Sunday July 22 at 4:00/5:00pm

    3. WHERE:

Put-in Location: From Rt 101 take Rt 108 North to Durham. Follow 108 into Durham and through the center of town. Turn onto Old Piscataqua Road. (If you cross Rt 4, you have gone too far!) Take the first right of Old Piscataqua (next to the skating rink) and follow that road to the water. The put in is at the end of the road. There is lots of parking. There will be a restroom.

  6. Hi Peter,

I have a roll of 6" tape that you are looking for. It works out to be $1.61 per foot. Let me know if this would work for you. I am assuming that your measurements were based on the 4" wide tape. I was told by a distributor that there is none of the 4" wide to be had in the whole of the US. He had one roll of 6" which I grabbed!! I have LOTS left over.

  9. I am planning to paddle this saturday meeting at 2:30 at Chapman's Landing. This would be a level 2 s&g. All are responsible for determining the appropriateness of their experience and equipment for this paddle.

Directions: Chapman’s Landing is where we will put-in. It is located where Rt 108 crosses the Squamscott River. This is south on 108 from Newmarket and north of Exeter. Look for the put in on the west side of the bridge. (see NH deLorme p. 30)

  10. FWIIW - I sent back my Standard Horizon for leaking issues when it was two years old and then again this spring. The first time it came back repaired. The last time I received, as a replacement, the HX471..never any charge and good turn around time. I wear it on my shoulder and also rinse it well after paddling.
