  1. I tried the kokatat fleece liners that were designed presumbably for their dry suits but had no luck. There were tons of seams that were bulky and they didn't seem to fit an athletic body. Too small in the shoulder and binding. I finally chose my expedition weight patagonia bottoms that I didn't like cause they were well, not very stylish. I brought them to a tailor who put in a two-way zipper to match the womens relief zipper for $25. I had her put in a an extra piece of material to shield the zipper from my butt and did not have any problems with the "double zipper problem". Though I did worry about it initially. The cool thing about just using bottoms is that you have a lot of freedom to choose your layers on top. And I agree with Suz , the functional part of a onesie shouldn't be too heavy weight. It's one of my most favorite and valuable cold water items cause it is such a breeze to go to the bathroom and I feel like I can hydrate as much as I want.
  2. If it works for you Adam, we are thinking of meeting 'promptly' at Morris Island Neck at 10:30 am and launching from there.
  3. I may join you. I'm a little under the weather today, but maybe I'll be better tommorrow! Karen
  4. I will be there with new reel and add some bird watching to the game.
  5. Kate - what fabulous photos. Thanks for your trip report. What kind of boat did you use? I assume you brought your own? Karen
  6. Thanks for posting them. I'm confused as to how a nor'easter can open up the gap. I'd think that it might drag more sand from the north to then settle to create a wider bridge. Any geology-minded folk out there want to give an educated opinion?
  7. which day are you paddling and where do you put in? Is it marsh? Karen
  8. Any photos, old or new charts or maps of the area? I'm having trouble visualizing exactly where this is. Karen
  9. Jason - thank you for your response. It looks like I'll be taking David's space unless Judy gave it away to somebody else from her waiting list...in which case I'd love to take yours. I guess stay tuned. Karen
  10. Would anyone who knows the status of the Waltham pool session scheduled this saturday [3/10] please get back to me so I can figure out if there's actually an opening? Thanks! Karen
  11. I researched many golf bags with inline skate wheels and came up with an excellent solution. It's fantastically easy and fits in a lot of gear. My choice was the 'Big Bertha' by Calloway- the entry level version which I got for $99 at TGW, The golf warehouse...it's a great color too! Karen
  12. JUdy - i am definitely interested and sent you an email a few days ago. Perhaps you didn't get it. Please confirm with email to drkglad@yahoo.com and I will write you again. Thanks, Karen
  13. I agree - I really learned a lot! John's explanations were very clear, informative (being a bit of a gear head-I might have more technical/science stuff). The diagrams were excellent. John's responsiveness to his audience and keeping on task were admirable. This talk helped to clear up some lingering questions I had so I can move forward understanding a bit more about the weather. Thanks John! Karen
  14. The best and cheapest i've found are 2.5 gallons. They are nylon bags with liner and a handle. They are much easier to deal with than the big square, collapsible jug type. They are very water tight and a good size for loading, unloading and fitting into unusual spaces. You can also hook up a shower spigot to it. Trouble is, they were simple and cheap and REI stopped carrying them. They are still available at Roche Sporting Goods in Porter Sq, Cambridge. You may need to order them.
  15. I am definitely interested...especially if it isn't too early in the day! Karen
  16. Ok. So I won't take the seat out but could you please write to me at drkglad@yahoo.com? If you live close by then I'd like to just sit in it. I think I'll get a sense of how much clearance I'll have by just looking at the seat construction. Thanks, Karen
