Please join us for this early-winter Zoom event, presented by internationally-renowned explorer and film maker (cackletv.com) Justine Curgenven, as she recounts her experiences sea kayaking in an other-worldly wilderness. We were fortunate to have her present “Sea Kayaking the World” to our club in November 2022.
Justine will talk about her latest amazing journey in the land of the white bear. Her 1000km remote kayaking trip followed the east side of Quebec’s Ungava Bay, home to the world’s largest tidal range, and a southern trace alongside Labrador’s dramatic Torngat mountains. Inuit travellers travelled through this area for centuries and many still hunt here. While no humans live in the vast wilderness now, it has one of the largest polar bear populations in the world. The team of four had to weave through a maze of fast moving sea ice, battle into fierce winds, navigate in thick fog and stay awake during the frigid night on polar bear watch. See stunning photos and videos and hear stories about the adventure including the bear that got way too close.
To sign up for this much-anticipated talk, RSVP on the NSPN calendar here, to the right.
