  11. Hi Pru, we're up for this, weather permitting. will confirm on Friday nick
  12. I bought genuine Valley replacement covers from Contooocook river canoes up in Concord NH - they sell Valley boats and carry parts http://www.contoocookcanoe.com/ It does seem like Valley are getting something wrong with the rubber in their covers. The day hatch cover on my Romany failed prematurely too, so maybe NDK use the same supplier. The hatch covers on my Cetus though seem to last forever and are equally soft & rubbery.
  13. just to chip in... I put a keeleasy strip on my Romany a few years back - it's certainly tough and does protect the keel well. I have found that it doesn't stick to the boat too well though, and have had to put a little extra adhesive in a couple of gaps that opened up after a year or two.
  14. Hi Pru, We plan to come along and look forward to seeing you there. I'm not sure exactly where Gould barn is, could you post a street name & zip perhaps please Thanks Nick & Ali
  15. Thanks - 30350 it is. Coming from the UK, I've never had to worry about UV protection before... As for the hatch covers - I've always used Valley hatch covers on Valley boats - I take it the Sea lect and KS covers fit the hatches on Valley's glass boats, but is the same true of their RM kayaks? (I have one of each) thanks Nick
  16. We've just got back from a week paddling in Maine and I now have the unpleasant job of scrubbing off lots of nasty sticky black marks from my combing. It seems like both of our decks have simultaneously gone sticky round the edges. Does anyone have any suggestions for what I can treat them with to stop this? Also I'd be interested to know what has happened to the rubber to suddenly make them go like this. Thanks Nick
  17. Forgive my ignorance - which 303 product should I use? There appear to be several Thanks Nick
  18. Hi, please include me if you do go for a group-buy - I need a cover for a day hatch (round) on an Avocet Thanks Nick
  19. Hi, Ali and I would like to join you too please. I'm thinking we might bring the double (the Bismarck) as we haven't paddled it yet this year. Where are we meeting? Thanks Nick
