  1. Hey Bob, Why don't you come up to Odiorne on Saturday (see posted trip) and we could work on some skills then, too? pru
  2. I think the AMC post said 11 am - but I'm sure we'll have no problems sorting ourselves out - pru ps - the launch spot is the same as for the CAM day last month, right?
  3. an all black boat?! Pretty cool - and intimidating! I may join you all if my Maine trip gets cancelled by threat of t-storms. pru
  4. All this erudition... it's a little frightening!
  5. As delirious as I was after being assaulted (!) on the water, I was right next to Eric when he rolled over and up - and he can confirm it! My memory of the rest of the session is, however, quite blurry! pru
  6. Lorrie, I think folks are planning to be there - pru
  7. Nice pix... And BTW, the bird with the orange beak that neither of us could identify - I think it was an oystercatcher... pru
  8. Hope to be there, too (if I can drag myself and gear together after two days with John Carmody in surf class) - pru
  9. It does - and the photos are lovely! Very evocative. pru
  10. The link says that it's private - which is why I think we can't get onto it -- pru
  11. Oops - I think I can't claim the XX's - they come from Jason! pru
  12. All is explained! Thank you. pru
  13. Ah! So I am not alone! I can live with an incomprehensible status as long as everyone else is living with one too!
  14. When I post anything, I notice that there is a bar that says "warn status" on the bottom after my name, group, posts, and joined info. No one else seems to have that. Not to be paranoid or anything, but am I missing something here? How do I get rid of it? Thanks! pru
  15. Sal - I'd be interested in the brand name of the zinc oxide, as I'm sporting a nice red face from the Sunday CAM day! - pru
  16. Fabulous, fun day. Many thanks to Rick for his guidance, sense of humor, and generosity. Apologies to Peter for killing him. And to everyone else, good paddling, conversation, rescues and laughs. Really a perfect day on the water. pru
  17. The Jewell trip was wonderful. We had: sun, wind, clouds, fog, drizzle and pouring rain over the three day period. We had: swells (not too big), chop (not too much), and beautiful glassy water where it was hard to tell the difference between water and sky. We had: a Saturday trip over to Eagle Island, where the paths were closed to us because of nesting birds, but the picnic tables were open and no one was there to charge us money to eat lunch. We ate well, drank...well, slept well enough, and explored the island. As advertised, a really nice L3 trip and shakedown for future kayak camping. One thing it DIDN'T do was give me great confidence in the accuracy of long range weather forecasting! Many, many thanks to Gary for initiating and doing a great job of herding cats when cats needed herding! And for those mussels (thanks also to Mary's more strenuous efforts in the harvesting department). pru
  18. I would be interested in the going over in the lobster boat trip - last year's endless thread makes me realize that would be the only way at this point I could safely explore what sounds like a fun area - pru
  19. Barry, the link didn't work - at least for me - pru
