It was a lovely day on the water. And we had stalkers... the friendly kind of course...

Great job! Congratulations Julie, Bob & Doug!!!

We don't know what they had and didn't have, what may have malfunctioned or happened... We don't know why or how one boat took on water and the other capsized. I am fairly sure the two paddlers involved have re-played the events and have thought about what they may do differently on their next paddle.
I agree float plans and cells are helpful. We don't know for sure that they didn't have either.

Reminder to RSVP and PM float plan info by Wednesday. Float plan info should include your name, cell or best #, make, model & color of boat along w emergency contact name and number.
See you soon,

A Ladies Camping Trip has been finalized.
WHEN: July 10-12 (Friday - Sunday)
WHERE: We will be staying at a Campground in MidCoast Maine. The campground has sites on a nearby island which is where we will be setting up. Most sites hold 2 tents but sites are limited, obviously. I will not be making reservations for the group and collecting $. Reservations may be made by the individuals. I will create an email chain to allow us to coordinate general info and sharing sites and carpooling if desired.
WHAT YOU NEED: A current MITA membership a we will be visiting MITA islands, an active NSPN membership, a sea kayak and a positive attitude and a love of fun.
WHAT NOW: When you can commit ~ RSVP on the calendar and either PM or email me (kelticwoman3 at Gmail . com) with your details (email & experience).
The location will allow us to paddle in protected waters and to be a little adventurous.
Looking forward to seeing the Maine sky at night, good food, great paddling and wonderful company!

Please RSVP on the Calendar and, if I don't know you, please indicate here your level, skill set and type of boat so that I can plan the trip accordingly. Please also feel free to post trip suggestions. Remember that NSPN membership is required for trip participation.
Everyone, PM float plan info by the Wednesday before the trip.
I'm looking forward to another great paddle,

Beautiful trip report although did you forget to get ice cream in Pt Clyde? If so, you need to go back!

Hi,
I'll check but I think I have a Mountain Hardware Luminaries 40 degree back and it's suited me fine for all 3 seasons and I could always put a liner in it for extra warmth.
-
Also... non-paddling friends, spouses, partners, paramours... are welcome as well.

Yes, I believe we are going the weekend after Labor Day, same as last year.

Fantastic! Congratulations! !!!

And hummus has a very special place with NSPNers (if you read some of the camping trip reports you will see what I mean)

Enjoy! Have fun! It's not like you're marrying the boat after all...

Me too, working.

Hello,
I wanted to give you all a "heads-up" on the date for our Annual ladies Paddle. It will be June 7 a Sunday. You may RSVP once I list it in the calendar, probably later in April. Location has not been determined.
And... I would like to facilitate a Ladies Camping Trip. That will be held on July 10-12. Again, you may RSVP once the trip is posted. The # of participants will probably be limited. Location has not been determined.
Looking forward to paddling with all y'all and seeing familiar faces and meeting new ones,
-
I have one Suzanne that I really like. I'll find it and post here.
