  1. Thanks for the info Ern. Do you know the best place to get this 2 part epoxy? Can you get it at the hardware store or West Marine?
  2. Did a 12 mile trec from Odiorne, to Brave Boat, around Gerrish Island and back Sunday. My new Cetus with "Lightweight Kevlar-carbon" clear hull also took on some scratches. Nothing that would bother me with a white hull, but the clear hull shows these nasty scratches like chalk on a black board. Any tricks to hide them??? When wet, they disappear but pop out when the boat becomes dry. How about fingernail epoxy. Any tips would be appreciated...Maybe I shouldn't be so fussy.
  3. Looks like another warm-up session at Lake Massabesic in Manchester around 12:00 today. Tomorrow (Sunday) I will be joining the crew at Odiorne Park at 11AM
  4. Can you map out your exact Odiornes Pt put in point? I will be joining you. doug doug@NEBM.net
  5. Hi Rick If the weather is nice, count me in. Doug P.S. Let me know if your paddling anywhere this Saturday.
  6. I'm just getting some feelers out there. Saturday looks nice. Anyone want to go out Portsmouth or Kittery (Fort Foster) area? I'm also open for Lake Massabesic or play around the melting ice on Winnipesaukee. That sounds like fun too.
  7. For anyone interested, here is my lake temp source for Winnipesaukee... http://winnipesaukee.com/tempcal/index.cgi
  8. Lake Winnipesaukee is at 37 degrees. Think I'll do an ocean paddle Saturday where the water temp is higher.
  9. BOAT RAMP ON MAIN STREET SOUNDS GOOD. THAT'S WHERE I"LL BE.
  10. Do you put in at Kingston State Park?
  11. Yes...tomorrow the 17th. What time are you thinking you'll show up?
  12. A couple of us will be paddling Great Pond in Kingston NH THURSDAY 4/16. I will be there 3:30 - 4:00. The others said closer to 5:00. Looks like I'll be the first one in the water. Could hit 70 degrees (air not water) Ha Ha! Any interest? I could get there earlier.... Doug
  13. WHERE ARE THE MYSTIC LAKES? Can you provide a map? Doug
  14. I think a "The 1st Annual Cetus Cotillion" sounds great. I'm jealous you ran right out and paddled yours yesterday. I haven't even figured out when I'm going to tell my wife. Both of our kayaks will have the same birthday, or at least delivery days. Mine is a Mango deck with yellow lines and a Kevlar hull. Nice contrast. Let's all plan that protected trip soon. That sounds excellent. Cathy, Thanks for the response. I think a little weight is needed to have these beasties track perfectly strait. Without a little skeg action the stern will skid a bit if you are on the lighter side. I paddled one for about an hour at the Sweetwater Symposium. Was surprised it handled the surf waves so well. Steve Maynard paddled one all week. His effortless control of this boat was a great thing to watch. Doug
  15. Hi Cathy, I just got my Cetus today. Can't wait to paddle it. How do you like it 11 months later? Doug
  16. Mine just came in. Found it on ebay. Shipping was kind of steep. WOW is it loud! Now my neighborhood is convinced that I've gone over the edge. Maybe I have..... Doug
  17. Yes, that was Steve Maymard in the Cetus. He swears by it and can make it dance. He did switch off halfway through an off shore paddle we took and a lighter 4 star paddler took the Cetus and found it to fish-tail as his stern kept coming out of the water.

  21. Sounds to me like I better check out the Capella. Could I have jumped the gun with the Romany HV? Thanks for posting this topic. Gives me something to do over the next month or so. I'm a big guy. I wonder if I will fit my 6'1" 240 lb body in one. Doug
  22. If you are that happy with your Explorer, why not look at a NDK Romany or a Valley Pintail? Both are playful boats and are backed by a long history of success. I am waiting for my Romany HV to come in sometime in March. Currently paddle a Valley Nordkapp and Impex Assateague. I was also searching for something more lively and maneuverable for 2008. Hope that helps. Doug
  23. I'm signed up for the Sweetwater Sea Kayak Symposium from 2/22-2/24. Is there anyone else from NSPN going? It would be nice to have some locals to hang with. You can respond to this posting or e-mail me at Doug@NEBM.net
  24. Is there a cost involved? I have a good amount of space to plant them here in NH. Will they last through the winter months. Can you store them as is until spring? Doug@NEBM.net
  25. Hi Kevin...Great pool session yesterday at Salem State. Looking forward to Haverhill. Need time & date before I can confirm. Doug
