  1. Nice Pictures. Thinking of past planning threads from Gene it looks like he got to experience a wide array of scenarios on this trip.
  2. Ok. Sounds good. 'Showing' works for me - I will do the 'Doing'. I will need the S sized wrist gaskets. I will try to call Kokatat and see whether they can ship them to me in time for the workshop. Rene
  3. Great writeup Ernie. I guess there was no opportunity for pictures during the paddle huh ? ;-) rb
  4. Hi Suz, I am definitely into DIY projects. I this case though I want to make sure I have good advice to do it right. If I wanted to change the gaskets myself at the clinic would there be enough time and opportunity to do so ? Will you have gasket sizes to purchase at the clinic ? I think I will need size small. His current size is xsmall (this is the child tropos suit) Rene
  5. My 12 year old son has grown out of the xsmall wrist gaskets on his Kokatat Tropos semi dry suit. Is it possible to send the dry suit to Kokatat and have them replace it for a fee? or Should I come to the gaskets workshop on the 29th and try to get it done right there?
  6. Great weekend at Umbagog. They had their first frost forecasted for this weekend. I'm glad I had my cold weather sleeping bag... :-)
  7. We're heading to Umbagog - not leaving without a warm sleeping bag.
  8. Kathy, Top picture on page4 = verry nice !
  9. They should offer it as a class
  10. I would like to do a saturday. For me it will be the same as Peter - last minute decision.
  11. If you don't mind going to Bath then Fred Randall gives free rolling clinics every Thursday. Look at the SMSKN events.
  12. I might be coming. I just returned from a 'dryland' vacation and I am anxious to go paddling. What time on Saturday and where? rb
  13. Congratulations! I thought you'd have her in an inflatable already. rb
  14. b u m p ! COMING UP SOON
  15. I'd volunteer to be a motorized support boat captain. There is only one problem - I don't have any motorized boats anymore since I started seakayaking.
  16. One thing I have done is to take twist connectors for electrical wires (sorry I don't know the proper name for them thingamagigs), filled them with silicone paste and screwed them on the inside of the screws. This seals the connection from water and protects items in your hatch from being snagged by them.
  17. I have it on two kayaks. I can vouch that it is definitely more readable than the trusty 70p. I have screwed it in, however, and I am happy with the product. r
  18. Gosh. Looks like I won't make it. I am stuck at Fast Eddies drive in ,somewhere south od Augusta Maine. I am feeding my partially hypothermic son after a kayak fishing trip experienced a delay. He caught a decent size bass and while he was extricating the hook, the fish took off with the hook and the fishing pole. We chased the pole and the fish until it disappeared. First my kid went into the water to scout the pond bottom. After I noticed him shivering I put jim back into the boat. 20 minutes later I actually spotted the fishing rod in 8 feet of water! The fish was gone I dove for it and got it. Now you know the rest of the story.
  19. I contacted him on Monday and offered help once he reaches Maine. He might contact me but I think he might spend some time at MIKCO instead.
  20. a non action pic from the first night at the lobby
  21. Good job Barry. This trip is shaping up very well.
  22. Looks like this paddle had a fair amount of youngsters. Too bad I couldn't make it. My son would have enjoyed this paddling trip. QUOTE (Kevin B @ Jun 21 2010, 06:51 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Very fun time indeed...here are some more pics: http://gallery.me.com/kybeckwith#100211
