  6. Great report Shari. It was a great weekend with conditions to enjoy. Dave
  7. Congratulation Rob. A job well done and deserved.
  8. Thanks for the heads up. If the weather turns out like today I may paddle at a local lake
  9. Congratulations Cathy.
  10. I find it hard to believe that no one has yet cautioned potential gasket trimmers NOT to attempt trimming the neck gasket while wearing the dry suit, especially if using a razor.
  11. This only works if 1. You can run and 2. You can get legs in after butt is in.
  12. I had to use my VHF this spring for a Mday which I always have tethered to my PFD. Because of the area, conditions and boat traffic VHF was kept on Ch 16. It worked great when needed. Got responses from harbor master and Boat USA after second broadcast. I could also monitor harbor master talking to CG. Was able to monitor communications right up to rescue.
  13. Congratulations Dave and Caroline. A great accomplishment . Dave
  14. Gary, I am canceling out of Squam. Please consider $25 as contribution to SLA OR if there is anyone on waiting list. Dave
  15. I just got a pair of Astrals this season and purchased one size larger than my shoe size so I could wear them with a dry suit. I paddle NDK Pilgrim which is low volume and found that The Astrals are too big for the boat and my feet get stuck to where I'm afraid it would hinder a wet exit. I did not think this would happen given my neoprene shoes have heavy soles and are the same size as the Astrals. I'm hoping that breaking them in will resolve the problem. If not, they are great to wear at the camp site after paddling Dave
  16. Congratulations to all. I enjoyed paddling with the newly knighted 3* Karen and Jeff the first half of the week in Stonington.
  17. Way to go Warren. Wear that patch proudly. So the next announcement is the name of your Kayak guide service?Dave
  18. I've used Barge contact cement which has worked well and did not absorb into the foam. I recently used Weldwood and you have to use multiple coats. I found it to absorb rapidly into the foam, is not as thick as Barge and did not hold as well. NRS sells H2O contact cement with their foam kits and it can be purchased separately. Dave
