  1. Josko,

I'm at the 10 year mark on some of mine as well.  I've noticed a bit of slippage and seems to be a combination of the "glazing" of the webbing and some dulling of the sharpness of the teeth.  I just compared to a newer set that I only use say once per year.  There's a distinct difference.  I have mine labeled (boat and front/rear) so I'm certain the contact point is the same each time I use them.

Thanks for the reminder probable time for a change.

    Cheers!

    David

  2. Had a meeting cancel, so had some time to kill.

NOTE: Robert, I'm not absolutely sure on this, but I think the shuttle from River Head to West Beach would be more like 45 minutes especially on a Saturday afternoon.

West Beach had been "floated" at one point.  And while it's still early out, and things can change, I suggest leaving it near the top of the list based on the following: ample parking for a group this large therefore no shuttling,  tide cycle timing for launch and return, opportunity for multiple trips (Baker/Misery, Manchester Coast east with options  for lunch break in both places) reasonableness of swell and conditions based on the point forecast and Cape Ann surf report and finally if the point holds up, the inshore winds are very reasonable.

  3. I have the same issue without any option to reschedule.   Per Terese's request is there any chance of recording and archiving on the NSPN site, much like if someone missed a given webinar the option exists to go back at a later date.  John's presentation are so highly regarded that they would also have value to not-yet club members who would then have the option of viewing them as a part of their own progression up the learning curve.   Notwithstanding copyright issues does it make sense to also consider a place on the site to catalog other videos, links to videos, articles etc by category say: strokes, safety, weather, navigation, kayak camping, leadership, skin-on-frame, gear, repair etc. etc.  It could be a distinct added value of club membership.  I know I've benefited by the many referrals and citations I've come across through the message board and while some could be found through the "search" function a designated place with some basic categories signals the continued value of learning within the club's DNA and ensures easy accessibility.

  4. Hey Folks,

Loosely considering travel time for all that have posted interest (North Shore, Metro North, Cambridge and Southern New Hampshire)  this is one "central" option in WIlmington MA off of I-93 in Wilmington.  https://redheattavern.com/

I've been there once and was very happy with the ambience, and menu.

Any interest?  I'd be glad to make the reservation for say 1:30 PM (Per the suggestion earlier in the thread).
