Hmmmmmmmmmm....... Right now I just don't have the extra cash laying around. so a proper Werner repair would have to wait a bit. I've tried a Greenland paddle only briefly once,thought I had bought a nearly bullet proof one - didn't plan on a roll over with the car! Ernie, CRCK has my paddle right now and the guys that were dealing with Werner are away for a couple of days. When I get it back I will give you a call to see what you think. In the meantime I do have a loaner. Someone mentioned reputable kevlar repair people? Would you mind letting me know who they are? Another opinion never hurts and I would expect that they could give me an estimate. Thanks all!

I own a Werner Cyprus 215 that was accidentally run over by a car (ok.........I did it ). CRCK contacted Werner for me since I bought the paddle through them and was told that it would cost $160 plus shipping both ways to have it repaired. It seems to me that there must be a cheaper way out of this. How does a carbon kevlar boat get repaired?? I don't care if patches are on my paddle, but I can't see paying $160++ to repair or replace half a paddle. The other half seems fine,no apparent cracks. Can anyone offer advice on this? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Lori B

Sounds great to me! I will, however have to beg a ride from someone (I live in West Medford, only about 2 miles from the lake). My car broke down at the 93/128 interchange yesterday and is still in the shop. Please send me a PM is someone can offer me a ride (with kayak of course). Thanks!

Well I'm in for sure. Considering it is a gentle paddle, maybe a potluck break for lunch - end of the season celebration (for those of us who don't have dry suits)? I am getting psyched for this one!! Lori B

Al, The Mystic River Watershed Association sponsors the Herring Run every year where kayaks start at the Blessing of the Bay Site, go up the lower lake, portage around the dam, paddle the upper lake and then back to finish the race at BOB. If there is not a member of that organization on this list, then I am sure one could be recruited from mysticriver.org. Great idea to include that info on the paddle!! LoriB

I would love to! I missed the Boston harbor paddle and would really like to do that, but others have done it recently, so I am open. A less exciting, but fun paddle might be lower Mystic Lake out to the locks (haven't done it, but I am pretty sure you can go all the way to the harbor without any further dams). Down the Charles into the locks and out to the harbor was also a beautiful paddle.

Sorry to have to retract this offer, but AMC just informed me that they have decided to let one of their volunteers use the cabin instead. Had they let me know of this possibility beforehand, I would not have tried to plan this trip. Sorry to have to cancel this. Lori B

Since the AMC Women's Weekend has been cancelled, the cabin at Knubble Bay is open for reservations. I would like to know if there is any interest in NSPN for a trip that weekend. Accomodations are super cheap and the kayaking is spectacular. If there is enough interest, I would be happy to coordinate meals, etc.. if someone would volunteer to lead paddles.
