  1. I was paddling on the deerfield a few weeks ago(temps in the 20's) and one of the women with us was using pogies. She said that she is finds her hands to be warmer if she doesn't wear gloves inside the pogies. I have the reactor gloves and the toaster mittens. I've only used the mittens once so far, but I've been happy with them. http://www.nrsweb.com/shop/product.asp?pfi...amp;deptid=1149
  2. Princeton tec was the only brand that I could find that specified being waterproof when I bought mine. (1m) http://www.rei.com/product/775558 This is waterproof to 33 m http://www.rei.com/product/765839

  5. I bought a Marmot from the REI outlet that is 109" long. I've only set it up at home; I may use it this weekend. Setup was pretty quick the first time. http://www.rei.com/outlet/product/777943
  6. REI outlet has a shred ready on closeout, and shredready has a closeout/2nds page I think.
  7. Are you AMC members? http://www.nhamcpaddlers.org/rentals.html
  8. I believe that people who moor their boats at Hingham will park overnight; at least in another section of the lot. You might want to call the Hingham Harbormaster or Hingham PD to confirm if parking is ok overnight. I am there frequently and can't recall any signs against overnight parking.
  9. If you really want an entry level one check out bikenashbar.com or performancebike.com. They usually have ones around $50 or less. (buying one at rei you have their guarantee in the even that you have any problems)
  10. Do you ever get to Walden or some other place where triathletes train frequently? I believe that triathletes use hrm as a tool; and can probably answer how well they work in the water.
  11. I lost a pair of prescription glasses with croakies windsurfing off of Kalmus beach in Hyannis. Because the neoprene will stretch if you are moving quickly or in current the glasses can be pulled up and off your head. I prefer "chums" which don't stretch and have a bead that you use to cinch tight on the back of your head. http://www.nrsweb.com/shop/product.asp?pfid=2493%2E2
