  1. The ones in Nashua were men's. I reccomend calling the outlet stores if you are interested.
  2. I was in the Nashua LL Bean last night and they had a tropos size XL and a gortex size small (no booties if I remember correctly), both cheap cheap cheap.
  3. Thanks for posting the pictures Bill. sorry I missed it.
  4. My roof racks are set up to hold a canoe and a kayak or up to 3 kayaks. I drive a Honda CRV I am fairly certain I have 58" bars (Thule), and a set of J hooks. The J hooks don't take up much space and still allow a canoe to fit. I also have the rollers and saddles for a second kayak carrier and when needed foam pads in the middle to carry kayak #3. Piece of cake!

  6. Heidi ROCKS!!!! You do an AWESOME JOB representing NSPN at these events. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I had no idea what to expect and was pleasantly surprised at how much fun it was to be at this event. I'm not sure I did too much yesterday, except to maybe add some comic relief falling out of Doug's boat in front of a large group of volunteers who were enjoying their free pizza! Dinner and show, who knew? LOL!

  12. Ern, I am helping out with the REI demo day and just sent you an email. Please check your spam folder if you don't see an email in your inbox with the subject REI Demo Day. Thanks, Betty
  13. Count me in. I may have to bring my 11 year old son Nathan in the Tandem but it sounds like a good time.
  14. Scott Cunningham did an awesome job last night. His slide show was entertaining (the smoking crab) and inspiring. I don't think it takes much to get a bunch of sea kayakers excited and the paddling opportunities are varied and vast for all skill levels; protected, rock gardening, tidal races and surfing. I never realized how many little islands there are off the coast of Nova Scotia just waiting to be explored. The scenery is breath taking. Newfoundland was absolutely stunning with sea stacks, paddling with ice bergs and whales.
  15. Thanks for the reminder Heidi. And just to clarify, the presentation is THURSDAY, March 26th (not Wednesday). After seeing Newfoundland on the Eastern Horizon's DVD I am jazzed about going there some time and want to learn more. I also heard first hand that a fellow NSPN member is scooping out interest in pulling together a group trip.
  16. Mary my friend, I'm interested if no one else has beat me to them. I am a kayak movie junkie! Thanks!
  17. There is an article on playak.com with directions to the spot. I've never been there but looks like F-U-N! http://playak.com/article.php?sid=67
  18. This is an emotional 4 minute trailer of the documentary. I’d be interested in getting my hands on a copy of the broadcast if anyone has taped it. I can't seem to find any information about when it might air again. http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/epis...Videos/05714_00 Here is a video link showing his boat and footage from his trip: http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/epis...Videos/05819_00 Here is a link to his wife’s comments about making the documentary; http://ngcblog.nationalgeographic.com/ngcb...ration_and.html
  19. Cool pics Doug, which camera did you use?
  20. Igot the 1030SW during the EMS 25%off sale in December. I plan to take lots of pictures and videos on an upcoming kayak trip. I was able to get a 16G sd hd mini card (for cellphones) because of the adapter that comes with the camera. The mini's are about half cost of the regular size sd hd's. I can store between 6000 and 9999 pictures. I also got a spare battery just in case. I can't wait to use it. My old digital is a sony and is not waterproof so shots were limited to calm conditions but "not no more"! Betty
  21. Like Cathy, Saturday works better for me but I have to line up child care so I am a tentative maybe.
  22. The sound of the wind woke me at 4:30am yesterday morning and I thought that the trip would not happen. The initial stretch from Salisbury (which is an awesome winter put in) into the river was choppy with a strong head wind but once in the narrower part, the wind dropped off to a light breeze which felt almost tropical. I giggled with delight at having the river completely free of boat traffic and the joy felt paddling in and around the floating ice. A large sheet of ice halted us short of the last island before the chain bridge and the ice pack under the 95 bridge. During our lunch break the tide turned and we watched a steady flow of large ice chunks race toward the ocean. I want a bumper sticker that says I break for floating ice chunks! The trip back was FAST being pushed out with the ebb tide and the last stretch over to the launch site was a rock and roll weather cocking ride with crashing waves over my beam and occasional surfing. Some girls want diamonds, others of us have simpler needs, lol! A day full of good memories. Thanks for posting the paddle Sal.
