  1. Hello, Peter and friends, Thank you for your kind words and wonderful memories of Dave. He really was a great guy and the stories of his legacies in so many areas are amazing. I finally put his obituary in the Globe last Sunday, January 26 I am managing to move. As you can imagine, I miss Dave terribly. I have been able to go to our house in NH to cross country ski and I will return to kayaking when the weather warms up. I have decided to do the Pan Mass Challenge this August to honor Dave's memory and support the work of Dana Farber who were wonderful to us. So, I plan to spend a fair amount of time on my bicycle, too. Thanks again. deb duncanson David Duncanson (with quotes) and pictures minus DF.docx

  4. Hi, Les, Dave and I have Surges and have paddled them for over ten years. We love them. They are very stable and very seaworthy. They are hard to roll, but a roll just requires practice. We have had them in some pretty precarious situations and they handle beautifully. I have not felt the need to have many different boats. This one seems to be able to do all that I want. deb duncanson

  6. I have some friends who have the opportunity to buy a Tofino tandem by Necky in really good shape. It is about 10 years old, has minimal wear on it and comes with cockpit covers. The present owners asked them to make an offer. Any ideas on how much a fair price would be? Thanks. deb duncanson

  9. Hello, We have had to make some last minute trip changes from mountaineering in the north Cascade Mountains to sea kayaking. We are thinking about the San Juan Islands because they are on our list of places to sea kayak. We are self-sufficient and would like to do our own trip. We have nine or ten days. Can anyone recommend where we should go and where we should rent kayaks? Are there any hazards specific to the area that we should know about? Also, does anyone know about the rules/etiquette on camping? Do we need to camp in designated camp sites? With all of the commercial outfitters we were also wondering how crowded it might be and how difficult it would be to get a campsite. Thanks.
  10. Hi, Kevin, Tomorrow morning we are planning on doing a little recognizance trip of our solstice route. We are going to try to launch at 8:00 and be off the water around 1:00. Because it won’t take all of that time to do the route, could we try to meet up with you somewhere? dave and deb
