PeterB
To Galen Carey, who earned his BCU (British Canoe Union) 4 Star Sea Leadership Award last weekend in Boothbay, with Steve Maynard and Nigel Robinson. This is a new award, not to be confused with the previous BCU 4 Star (which Galen had already earned), requiring a high degree of kayak skill, leadership, judgment, temperament, and seamanship. Only a small handful of people in the whole country hold this award at this time.

GJ Carey
Thanks for the kind word guys. I especially want to thank the NSPNers (Rob H, Laura, Ed, Gail, Deb, Carl C, Scott, Jon V) who donated their time to come along as victims volunteers for the trips. It made a huge difference having real paddlers to poke around with. The friendly faces and words of encouragement were also much appreciated. Rob Hazard
I'll bet I can speak for the whole gang. We had a blast! The paddling and the company were outstanding, and we all learned a lot. I'm still buzzing! Congratulations! Rob
