alcoons
Trip is confirmed since we have 4 paddlers at this point but stay tuned here for changes. Date: Saturday, September 13 Butts in Boats Launch Time: 9:30 AM Return time: 2:00-3:00 ???? Put-in: Winthrop - http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&saddr=...mp;t=h&z=16 Route: Make it up as we go along. Visit some islands, enjoy the trip. Would like to send 30-40 visiting one historic island in addition to lunch. Here is one possibility - http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=225200 Level: 3. Wind and chop possible and serious boat traffic likely. Type: CAM with expectations that one mellow group stays together and works together. Other groups can certainly form at the put-in. Tide: High 10:30 AM Al Cetus Red/White

kevinfre
Oh well - I'm hiking on Saturday. But if you somehow end up changing to Sunday, and if I have any energy left, I'd certainly join you. Kevin

I thought everyone was bringing a plastic boat with training wheels. Try this link for something very quick and dirty. Not really meant to reflect best crossing. Don't have time to deal with that right now. Hopefully Kevin knows them already? http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=2252330 Thanks, Al
Gcosloy
Hi Al, The route looks like a cool trip. Especially going through Hull gut. I'm tentatively signing on for this.
subaruguru
Hi Al, Did a similar trip a couple of weeks ago in my Cetus. Think I'll try it in my Force5 this time, as it's got a new seat! But why so early...9:30? Ern
bazzert
But why so early...9:30? What ? The day is half over by 9:30 If the weather is good I'm taking my son camping on the cape this weekend; otherwise I'll join you on this trip. Barry. Not a big deal, we'll just catch everyone another time.
Phil Allen
Lorrie and I are interested and plan on coming. T-storms and showers should be done by 11am, so as long as we can keep an eye to the sky we should be good. Current shouldn't be a problem in the gut as long as we dont goof around too much. alcoons
The weather report and commitment of paddlers seems to change frequently. I am not surprised and I feel the same way. I will post my decision to paddle at 9:30 AM Friday and then see how many are still committed by 6 PM Friday. Al
alcoons
Weather conditions have turned back in our favor. Looks good. Let's do it. I will be there planning to be flexible. Trip is on. Hope to see those of you that were still planning to come (Gene, Ern, Phil, Lorri, Alex) and those lurkers who were waiting to see what transpired. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Al Just to be safe, check here again tonight.
subaruguru
Hi Al, The morning briskness makes me think about getting the wetsuit out, but current forecast is for a return to mid 70s Saturday. Whaddayathink? Ern PS I'll give final go later today too, as I'm not positive that I'm free yet.

Gcosloy
Hey Al, I may not make it. Yesterday at Lanes my Explorer fell on my head off my Forester. (Don't ask!). Neck seems a bit messed up still. I'll see how I feel early on the morrow and decide then.
alcoons
Starting to look iffy on having enough paddlers for safety. Those who are sure, please repost ASAP. Those who are unsure, please post as soon as you know. Anyone planning to go on the trip, please check back this evening. Al Wow. This is getting way too hard. Gcosloy
I'm feeling better and will go tomorrow. In the spirit of CAM, don't want to put this one on one person, how many paddlers would be happy with a 10:15 launch instead of 9:30? Or is the latter launch a problem for anyone?
