betty Posted April 29, 2020 Posted April 29, 2020 I just purchased a P&H Virgo and I'm having difficulty getting the hatch covers to close/seal properly...any feedback is greatly appreciated~! Quote
mhabich Posted April 29, 2020 Posted April 29, 2020 Get some 303 protectant and spray/wipe it on the hatch covers, and wipe off the excess. It will let the covers slide onto the hatch rims more easily and will slow the aging of the rubber. Repeat as needed. Quote
mbhazeltine Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 P&H recommends silicone spray: (from their website) Hatches When loading hatches, take care not to dislodge or damage the skeg/rudder tubes, scratch the inside of the kayak, or damage the bulkheads. Unevenly or excessively loaded hatches can also lead to poor or unsafe performance and potentially deformation of the kayak. If you have trouble fitting your kayak’s hatch covers, we recommend applying silicone spray to the hatch rim and inside edge of the hatch cover. Quote
