  1. My F-1 is where I began my kayaking. I had never kayaked before building mine so my frame of reference is skewed. I loved it - maybe because it was my baby. I eventually got a North Shore Polar kayak for a variety of reasons - none of which really had to do with the F-1. I had a terrible time trying to learn to roll in it because every time I had to wet exit the boat fully filled with water and was a pain to empty. Therefore I was reluctant to keep trying. Once I got my Polar I finally learned to roll - although still not fully reliable. I really haven't used it since. I tried it in a pool session and found I couldn’t sit in it, which I chalked up to the fact that I’ve had hip and knee replacements since I built it. I keep saying I’m going to try it again and just haven’t ( it’s hanging in my basement and is hard to access - poor excuse )

  2. Walden does continue if people want it to. As for the F-1, there are three of us (myself included) that go to Walden that have made an F-1. One uses his as his primary kayak and is also the most frequent participant at Walden, as well as being the "organizer of Walden. As of this moment I’m not sure if anyone is going tomorrow.

  3. I have a Prius. I bought a hullivatore and was unable to use it because the car wasn’t high enough. The hullivator was almost on the ground and I couldn’t reach to release it. I have absolutely no problem pushing it up the back of the car. I place a piece of carpeting over the back of the car, lift the bow up onto it and then work my way to the stern and lift and push it up o to my rack which has foam on it. Really easy and simple
