  1. Awesome ...thanks for sharing, wish i could surf with you all.
  2. I used bug spray once that completely ruined a watch band of a fairly expensive watch. never could find a replacement band. Hair spray , bug spray and sunscreen will destroy real pearls as well. Pretty scary stuff. I can see why it ruins the gaskets. I have had no problem with the "dry touch" sunscreens to date. may want to try those.
  3. How many miles do you think you will be putting in daily? How late can we decide if we are able to make it? Thanks, Pam
  4. LBeale Thanks for the reply...i am afraid i will never be as tiny as you, so i am apt to fit more snugly in some of these boats perhaps. I sooo wish i was near Walden Pond, but am way up in Northern NH. So lonely up here. SIGH! I really want a do it all kinda boat. So will try them all if i have to. It should be fun though.
  5. GCosloy- I am currently in a Scorpio LV, which is way to big for me. I have done quite well rolling this boat inspite of the thigh braces barely being on my knee...in fact i tend to slide out from under them when trying to slow down my roll. So i have to have a fast roll which is not what i really want for my Greenland rolls. But if i don't i loose the momentum. Then it's a struggle to finish the roll. In a friends Tiderace Excite it was a snap, thigh braces on the thigh... hallelujah! So no sliding around , no slipping, a joy. So this has brought me into the shopping frame of mind. I want a boat that i can tour with, camp with and progress with Greenland rolls as well. Hope there is a boat that will do it all.
  6. Anyone own any of these boats doing a lot of Greenland rolling and skills? Looking to upgrade from a Scorpio LV . I am 5' 2" and fall into the LV category even though a have chunky thighs (sigh....it's just the way it is ) Also looking at Tiderace and the Cetus. Thanks.
  7. Thanks for the heads up. what next?
  8. I always have extra straps. A lot of people are to loose with the cond. of their straps. Quite scary to me.
  9. Unfortunately, that is almost 3.5 hrs from me....not doable! I will keep in mind if on Vacation though. Thanks
  10. Ed, I think i may have met thru" some SMSKN trips or the rolling thing in Bath, Maine. If you could let me know the next time you may be practicing that would be awesome.I may head up to Bar Harbor for the symposium...we are a bit late in deciding, so it's a matter of available space etc...
  11. Franconia area.Where are you? For Ed...I think i met you in Bath,Maine at the Y. I belong to SMSKN also.
  12. I am in Northern NH and don't mind traveling on the weekends (w/in a reasonable distance -ie.1-1/2 hrs-that puts me in the Concord/Manchester area) to practice Greenland rolling. Does anyone know of a group that meets weekly that might be of help to me? I took 1 lesson w/Cheri Perry and am tapped out budget wise and looking for FREE help of like minded people. Thanks.
