Interested.

Very nice.

Interested. Will post again if I decide to join you. I go from there quite a bit, but haven't done that trip. Nancy

Yes, excellent pictures and report :-)

Rob, I'm pm'ing you with my float plan info. I work tonight, but would like to try to make this.

Yes, that area can be very confusing. Back during my years in Ipswich, it was my playground and I was out in the sound two-three times a week during the season. I have always been a bit "tide-obsessed," so I would try to time the tide to my favor and choose my route accordingly. Usually I would do short paddles averaging 5-8 miles in the area, but when the tide is right, this is a great trip. Thanks for the route map!

Wow. Impressed with the plan. When I lived in Ipswich I used to do this paddle on the fly. Would love to do it tomorrow but won't be home in time to make it. I especially love that the tide would be in our favor both ways. Gorgeous area and I miss it.

Thrilling for sure :-) The only whale watch I was ever on (mid-eighties), was out of Gloucester and included the boat running with a school of dolphins. But being in a kayak and having them so close must have been amazing.

I was pleasantly invited to join several "racing types" for a paddle from Ipswich wharf to the Red Nun at the mouth of the Ipswich River/Plum Island Sound on Sunday 8/30/15. Got to try out paddling lead in a tandem, passing up a wing paddle for my usual bent shaft Werner. Put in around 8:45pm with full moon coming up, but obstructed by trees. As we started down the Ipswich River the moon quickly became visible, adding a little light to the situation. We met one or two motor boats as the low tide gradually started to rush to mid-tide.
Trip was beautiful and relatively uneventful except for a fantastic rush as we went around the Nun and current swept us to about 7 knots rushing back in through the mooring field off little neck. We overshot and missed the turn as we went through the bay, but easily recovered to find the main channel. Headed back to Town Wharf without seeing a single motor boat (or anyone else). Short but sweet. All packed up by 11pm.
Not a big night paddler, but this was fun.

Hi Lesli,
I was waiting to see if anything came up on this. I have a busy day today, but was hoping to possibly catch a moonlight paddle if people were doing it. Don't see anything here yet though. Would love to practice, but today might be tight.

Could do Pavilion or North Shore sunday evening :-/

I'd be in, and like the location, but college moving weekend. Thankfully got out yesterday. Have fun.

Weather looks like it might be okay, but I missed my window. Have an early day tomorrow, so think I'm going to pass. I'm sure it will be quite lovely. Enjoy!

Been very busy with somewhat low motivation for things that take effort. Will try -- I'll post later either way.

Sounds wonderful. Great pictures, too :-)

Yup. Those were the ones. Pretty, but large. And I must have counted over 10, mostly by themselves. Just an FYI

I was to the right of Lane's on Tuesday and noticed quite a few large jellyfish in the water. Is this typical, Sir G? Just wondering. I was a bit surprised as I had never noticed them before.

I was thinking the same thing. Have light, will travel. Yet, I haven't done one for a while...

Count me in as well. Yay

Turtled many a Sunfish back in the day... Or more correctly, my Dad's Sunfish many times over...

Hi,
I am looking to sell my space, after Pru. So if two people want to come, there are two slots available, if Pru's is still available. Otherwise, I will try to come (if I can't sell)
Pm me first and then Doug if interested.
Thanks,
Nancy
