  1. Yikes... I've been in Maine this week with a tweeked out shoulder form my little dumping last Sunday, no internet, but the goosing was not as bad as the video showed. My camera is in a block of foam with velcro on the back which sticks to my PFD. When I was dumped over I tumbled with the wave a bit , BTW,better to surf on top of the wave than in it, catching a breath now and then till things calmed down, then rolled up. The camera was on it's tether in the water. After getting the boat pointed out into the incoming waves and organized again the camera went back on the PFD, and a little.. Whew... . A great day overall. Sorry , no gills yet. B)

PS Doug, What is my "6" ?

  3. Not really sure what happened. I'm sure any structural failure was my fault. I have beat on this camera for 2 seasons. It was rarely washed throughly the past year other than the lens and retractable lens cover. There is literaly salt build-up in all crevaces. Protective lens frame dissapeared a month ago after "crazy glueing" it back on 3 or 4 times. (They changed that design flaw on the new model) Note: Many waterproof cameras do not have lens covers. Big advantage in my opinion. Olympus makes a nice product. Will have a Olympus 8010 by next Sunday's paddle thanks to the sale of a couple helmets over the weekend and of course Uncle Sam.

    Next Sunday too.........??

  4. Gentlemen, all comments and suggestions are welcome and blended into the learning curve.. mine, longer than some. I have watched and studied with better paddlers over the last two years and learned alot, then comes the time to do it your self. It's the next step. Had excellent back-up with Peter, Doug, and John. Had a blast and can't wait to do it again, minus trashing das boat!!
