  5. Adam, Looked like a fun day. Couldn't load all the images but I recognize some people from what I could see. What's the Elvis joke? Did I miss hearing Bob sing or something? -Page
  6. Thanks guys for a great time. I enjoyed the company and the scenery. What a great place you have to paddle. Trip report and pics at http://letsgo2sea.com
  7. Bill, Is there any special gear we need to bring? I'm coming from Virginia and don't really know what the water temps are up there. Should I bring my drysuit? Thanks, -Page
  8. Thanks. I'm thinking about trying again next week. Or maybe I'll just launch from somewhere in the outer harbor.
  9. Hi Bill, I'd like to join this paddle. I'll be in town Sunday for business the following week. Don't know anybody but the trip looks interesting. -Page
  10. Paddled out in a sit-on-top to see the launch closeup. Click below to see the pictures: http://letsgo2sea.com
  11. Frank, Thanks for the great input. I'll look into doing some enhancements. -Page
  12. Walter, I'll be in the Boston area during the first week of July. I'll contact you and paddle Essex Bay. -Page
  13. Thanks for the interest. I have created my own software that reads the GPX file created by my Garmin Etrex Vista Cx (most GPS units do this or their formats can be converted to GPX). When I upload pictures from a digital camera, the software calculates the nearest GPS measurement to the time the picture was snapped. It then runs the track on the map in real-time while doing a slideshow of the images. A feature I just added generates the web page. Expect to see more reports. The software is currently in production but if you would like, I can give you a free copy. I plan on paddling in the Boston are next week. Do you guys have a regular day/place you meet?

  15. Thanks. I'm asking because I would like to join you guys if it would be okay. I plan to travel to Boston for a week starting March 18th on business. I'm looking for a chance to paddle on the weekends or during the week. Do you have any recommendations? Currently, I paddle with the Chesapeake Kayaker's Assoc.
  16. What kind of conditions are you expecting?
  17. Thanks for the information - especially the part about the beer I would like to organize a trip but the cape is too far from where I live to be feasable, so I'm hoping to paddle with some experienced locals. I appreciate you taking the time to share your knowledge.
  18. Hello, Anybody in NSPN planning a trip like this for the coming season? It's something I've thought about trying. Has anyone done it or have advice. I paddle with the Chesapeake Paddler's Assoc. (cpakayaker.com) in D.C. and will be in the Boston area frequently on business in the near future. Thanks.
  19. I camped at False Cape State Park on the VA/NC border in December. Great paddling spot. On the way in, there are a couple outfitters renting boats. Also, at our campsite there were a bunch of rentals. So you wouldn't even need to transport the kayak. My pics are coming at letsgo2sea.com. Check back soon.
  20. Check out Bell's Island campground in Currituck, NC. Last Summer I went down and paddled around the sound and would like to go back. The launch is steps from the tent site. Have a look at the pics at http://www.letsgo2sea.com. Good Luck!
