My husband has paddled an orion for years. He loves the boat - it has taken him (an untrained, but seasoned paddler) through conditions he had no business being in. It is a very stable boat, the bow cuts through waves beautifully. Not my kind of boat - but he won't give it up. He is having it "rebuilt" this year. This boat has got to be more than 15 yrs old and has held up very well. We paddle in Maine year round.

Jon - You didn't happen to hear the volley of gunfire coming off of York Is. at about 2 PM did you? It sounded like someone fired off an arsenal with many different types of artillary. We were sitting in the turnip field at about that time and I got to admit it was a little un nerving. Otherwise it was a nice day out of Deer Isle..... A circumnavigation is definately in the works.

We built Bryans rack. Easy to build and very sturdy. Was a great improvement for our kayak storage problem. Thanks Bryan - I have actually bookmarked your page - lots of good info in those photos. Barb CaribouS - red on white
