EEL Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 More eye candy of WW folks in tide races. Sort of makes sea kayaking look dull in comparison. Which is fine by me. Go to the NH WW School and you too can.....nevermind. But it is a great learning experience with great people. Ed Lawson Quote

EEL Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Yikes. A textbook case of edging the wrong way in current. Exactly. It appeared to me the tug was "tripped" when it got in a different current from the barge. Everyone has to read the water, big and small. Ed Lawson Quote

I suppose there's a bit of an adrenaline rush to this sort of thing but I'd rather watch birds fly in and out of a whales open mouth as the water pours from the baleen any day. Quote
JohnM Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 Alas you can have both. How many have been out in the surf to look behind you and see a seal cheking you out or following you? Last season down the deerfield, as my friend was surfing a section called left turn, a black bear appeared to the right bank of the river where they watched each other for a bit. It does not get better than that. I have paddled very close to basking sharks but never a whale. I look forward to that experience. Quote
