Bill Gwynn
Where is the best place to get minicell foam? I will be foaming the bulkheads and back rests in three boats, so I need quite a bit. I've searched around the web, but was wondering if there was a local less expensive source.
mskulick
Bill, unless something dramatic has escaped my attention, I'd say your best source would be Brian Nystrom. Last I heard, he had a good supply at a good price!Mike.
Brian Nystrom
I've got pleny of 1/2" and 1" and white minicel. It runs $1 and $2 per square foot, respectively. If you need thicker material, it's easy to laminate it with contact cement. I have it in sizes from 1'x1' to 2'x4' and may even have some 4'x4'. wernermaas
Bill,if Brian is low on supplies, you can also order it from kayakoutfitting.com
markstephens
I wish I had gone with thicker foam rather than laminating. I've had repeated problems of de-laminating minicell with the white stuff. The cement bond holds, but a micro-thin layer of the foam peels off right at the bonded area.
