ayong
I know that Google Earth has a distance function ("ruler"), but recently I saw a hack that also gives bearing from point to point but didn't bookmark it and can't locate it. Anyone know it? Tom

Tom Hi Tom, I dont think it is quite what you are looking for but at the bottom of this page is a kmz which puts a compass rose on google earth which can be used in conjunction with the Ruler path tool to give you a bearing. For google maps (not earth) this site has a pretty good route planning tool. Barry.
EEL
Tom: If you are looking for trip planning tools and looking for something that is free take a look at the trial version of Coastal Explorer. http://rosepointnav.com/default.htm Read the license terms for the trial version. Nice, very nice. Ed Lawson
