PeterB
Mark is done paddling and heading home. Here is a link to his blog: http://carpediemkayaking.wordpress.com/200...he-end/#respond Well done I would say!! Suz Thanks for the updates, Suz. NSPN donated to Mark's Norway expedition last year, and in exchange Mark has offered to run a class for NSPN in 2009 . We do not know the time and date yet, but are thinking of possibly an overnight trip, perhaps to one of the MITA islands, that will double as a fundraiser for MITA. This would be an opportunity of the highest order, combining paddling , learning, (and possibly a small taste of expeditioning) with an acclaimed professional and a great person. We'll keep you posted.

Peter, that would be very cool. Maybe two nights and a day destination like Eastern Egg Rock or Halfway Rock Light? Ed Lawson
PeterB
Peter, that would be very cool. Maybe two nights and a day destination like Eastern Egg Rock or Halfway Rock Light? Ed Lawson The general understanding was a one day class. This could possibly be developed into something with one overnight, if Mr. Schoon is willing and interested. In general , a location that is open to a reasonable cross section of our members would be fitting, so more remote destinations such as Egg Rock and Halfway Light, suitable only for our more advanced paddlers, might not fit that billing. Our two adopted MITA islands are a possibility, as are islands in the Cape Porpoise area. Many options , and it is premature at this time to come up with a plan, as Mr. Schoon has been hard to reach for obvious reasons, but ideas are always good. Suz
I have been in touch with Mel and we should have a plan soon. -Jason Let me put my two cents in! I personally think it should be local so that a Gould Barn night could be arranged with Mark doing a slide show of his trip. Mark is a great photographer and I know he will have a great story to tell. Suz
