leong Posted March 2, 2009 Share Posted March 2, 2009 Looking at the diagram it's hard to believe this will work reliably to propel a kayak. As the fins drive the glider one way won't the kayak (float) slide down the wave face in the opposite direction? For the stated purpose I guess it works on average and efficiency is of no concern. But it sure looks like this might be an efficient way to drive an electric generator. Suspend the glider from a kayak and generate all the kayak's electricity needs (recharge batteries for cell phone, GPS, VHF, DVD movie player, decktop computer, electric heater, fresh water generator, etc.).
