sings_evil_twin
I did get out but Sean K got stuck at work. My report (along with a paddle review) can be found here: http://www.paddling.net/message/showThread...chat&tid=216963 There'll still be waves around today -- clean but diminishing. Folks up NH/ME will have it longer. Wish I could get out day too but... Supposedly some southwestery stuff could happen this weekend which points to Horseneck and/or RI. But I really haven't check the forecasts. I'm headed up north for ww this weekend. sing BTW, for those interested, RISK is beginning to plan for a fall expression session. Hoping for a good hurricane season.

sings_evil_twin
Guess that's why they call some of this stuff "kayak porn." I got butterflies in the stomach and chills down the back just looking at the pics of the waves and Brad catching them. So where is this spot exactly? Is it offshore? Can you land nearby? I'm thinking of making a cockpit cover for my Boogie and towing it to some of these offshore "play spots" with touring boat. This way I don't have to contend with swimmers or boardies.sing
Bill Gwynn
I'd tell you, but then....just kidding. It's just off Galloupes point in Swampscott, it's called Dread Ledge, but more commonly referred to as the "Spindle" it's less than a mile bearing 122 degrees true from the Swampscott town pier where we put in. Parking is limited especially on a warm weekend day (there were plenty of spots yesterday). It's all nice homes out on the point there, we have landed there (for navigation purposes) in the past without problems. Your best bet is to land on the rocks on the ocean side of the cut (not private), there are no sandy beaches, but there is a little area where it gets slowly shallow allowing you to get out and pull your boat up. This spot is best closer to low tide rather than high, as a matter of fact, I believe the rocks are mostly covered at High making it difficult to land anywhere.
