rick stoehrer
Where is that?? is that the sandbar/break offa the N-ish end of plum when you come out the mouth of the 'mac? if we launch at 9-ish, we can paddle down from cashman, play in what we can find on the incoming tide along those rocks there over by the reservation and then head down to that ledge...H is a little after noon, i think....might go ashore, relax and have lunch, play a bit more and then work our way back up the river against the tide....yippee....a slog. or 'round gerrish? I meant that cluster ledges between Jewell and Eagle, but if there's a Brown Cow Ledge near Plum Is. and the mouth of the Mac, well... it's closer to home. Paul Sylvester
If I can get free this sunday I would prefer somewhere other than Portsmouth. I think I could go through the Gerrish marsh with a blindfold on......
NPSheehan
A group of us Seacoast Paddlers are launching at Hilton Park at Dover Point and heading up the Cocheco River. Anyone is welcome to join in. It's a moderately easy paddle and unless the forecast changes again it looks like it'll be a nice day on Sunday for a paddle up the river. Approx distance 12miles Round Trip and we'll have favorable tides. Launch at 1:30pm - High Tide is approx 1:50 at the end of the Cocheco later further up river. See the link below for more info. http://paddling.meetup.com/53/calendar/8441301/ Neil

rick stoehrer
sunday on the merrimac.... launch at a leisurely 10am from cashman park in newburyport....paddle down river to the mouth where we play or skeedaddle down plum. do some rescues, do some tows....take a bite to eat....high is 12:21 so by that point it'll be ebbing out....maybe we'll get a little something offa that break just south of the mouth....if not, more rescues, more tows.... we'll have to do a couple things here...back UP river against the ebb to cashman...now doesn't that sound like fun? no? you're right, it isn't BUT it's a nice little slog....don't worry about it, we've all just practiced tows....he, he, he...it'd be a shame not to use one and we may have to portage over the breakwater where it runs into the beach to avoid the mouth depending on how everyone is feeling. fun, right? weather....
