alcoons
Hi. Anyone want to give us a little overview or site (cannot fine one) about VHF weather channels? Trying to remember what the local VHF Weather Channel is so I can set up a scan with that channel, 16, and 72 on my iCOM M88. Thanks in advance, Al Cetus Red/White
EEL
Hi. Anyone want to give us a little overview or site These should provide the info you seek. http://www.weather.gov/nwr/stations.php?State=NH http://www.weather.gov/nwr/stations.php?State=MA http://www.weather.gov/nwr/stations.php?State=ME FWIW, only the Gloucester and Jonesboro stations are marine stations which means that is all they broadcast. The others near the coast do both land and local marine forecasts. Actually, better to have land and marine forecasts for kayaking. The Jonesboro station can be heard all the way down to Muscongus, but overall the Ellsworth station is better. Both give the intracoastal forecasts which are ideal for most kayaking trips. For the NH coast you will want the Deerfield or Saddlebck station. For Casco Bay the Falmouth station. The manual with the radio should give you channel numbers with corresponding freq. BTW, as usual on busy weekends, lots on "interesting" traffic on 16 yesterday. Ed Lawson

For those with the ICOM 88, Channel 3 is weather out of Boston and Channel 4 is weather out of Essex/Glouchester. Al
