rick stoehrer
went out of pierces through little harbor, out to wood, whaleback and off a bit - tried to catch some of the big swell coming in...mostly too fast. cuppa on wood. snowed on us. no wind and no other traffic. 9-ish miles...very nice day. Curious what the swells were around Whaleback. I assume the period was quite long and there were some interesting boomers just after leaving Little Harbor to the north if tide low. For reasons left unsaid, I was in Portland Sunday and the bay would have been a magical place to paddle for very different reasons. Light snow, no wind, almost dead flat. I won't miss it when gone from yard, but winter and snow provide some great outdoor experiences.
