BOB L
Do I have to finish a greenland paddle before I use it or can I wait until I've tested it and made sure all of the sizes are correct for me before I oil it. I left everything a bit larger than the instructions suggested and I would like to use it to make sure it is right or tweak it before I go and oil it, but I don't know if the wood will be "hurt" by getting wet and drying before it is properly finished? Thanks in advance.
bob budd
Try it out before you finish it. Many of us who have seen the light and know the pleasure and inner peace that only greenland paddles can provide also coat the ends to prolong life and reduce split ends. Brian Nystrom
You can definitely try it out before finishing it. Just rinse it well with fresh water to remove any salt, then let it dry overnight before applying the finish.
