eneumeier
I have been trying to find new bungee cord for my decks but locally all they have is 1/4 inch and it is too big to go through the fittings of my Valley Nordkapp. West Marine has this: https://www.westmarine.com/new-england-ropes-6mm-shock-cord-sold-by-the-foot-17986886.html at 6 mm it is a tiny bit smaller. Does anyone know if that would work? Other suggestions? Liz
Jim Snyder
I bought from this company and I think they sent me samples: https://www.paracordplanet.com/paracord/
Joseph Berkovitz
I just went to a West marine and bought the closest gauge to what I already had (bringing a sample with me). It worked fine. But I don’t have a Nordkapp. 6mm is not really much smaller than 1/4”. If that thickness doesn’t work out, Maybe measure the thickness of the existing cord as best you can and look for something online.
EEL
Liz: The shock or bunge cord size you need is 3/16". That size will work with Valley RDFs and others. My SWAG is 4.5 to 5 MM cord would also work, but 6MM is too big. Ed Lawson

eneumeier
Thanks for the advice. I was thinking 6MM looked too big. I'll see if West Marine has 3/16" since I need it now. Liz
