Anyone been to Essex / Cranes lately and know if the greenheads are out yet?

I haven't been to cranes lately but the greenheads are already out in the Merrimack river/Plum Island area. Pretty early this year.

I spoke with Doug Cooke who lives in Ipswich and he agreed with Sal saying they are out early this year.  However, neoprene, dry suits and/or light clothing can be helpful.

They are out in force, cut right through my long neoprene pants last Tuesday night during a quick paddle from Pavilion.
