Samuel Duffield
P&H’s Chris Hipgrave is an adventurer through and through, “Fueled by a passion for all things paddle-sports, I’ve competed through out the World in a wide variety of disciplines and explored from the snow capped Bhutanese Himalayas, to South America, Europe, Asia, Australasia and the Antarctic Peninsula.” In 2016, Chris was hired as an Antarctic kayak guide for a six week exploration of the Southern Ocean aboard the Polar Pioneer, an ice-strengthened research vessel that had been refurbished and converted into a passenger ship. His trip took him through the Falklands Island, South Georgia (made famous by Shackleton’s harrowing story of survival), Elephant Island, South Shetland Islands, the Antarctic Peninsula and the ports of Ushuaia and Puerto Williams. Chris will be bringing his stories, his sense of adventure, and the slide presentation from 6 weeks of Antarctic exploration, to Newbury Kayak and Canoe for an evening of armchair adventure like none before! Snacks and drinks provided. Monday, October 9 at 7 PM

mattdrayer
My 11yo daughter and I will be on our way home from backpacking in NH on Monday evening and may possibly join in the fun as well. Matt
prudenceb
Looks like I'm a definite, unless there's a real monsoon for the long drive from Cambridge. So it's 5:30 at American BBQ in Rowley. Joe Berkovitz also said he's interested. Prudence

Inverseyourself
Most or all restaurants appear to be closed, including the Greek restaurant in Ipswich. I'll look some more.
prudenceb
What about the Mexican restaurant on Rte 1 in Rowley, El Tapatio or something... i would prefer something on the Boston rather than NH side of Newbury would be appreciated. Long drive as it is!
Inverseyourself
It's a little bit of a dump. Most of the NBP places are open...but I see your point, Pru.
cfolster
I like Leo's House of Pizza at the route 1 rotary. It's just a pizza joint, but they have good cheesesteak subs.
cfolster
You'll need to go into NBPT for decent food
mhabich
Maybe Choate Bridge Pub in Ipswich or The Grog in NBPT.

Long drive as it is! Don't know El Tapatio. There's En Fuego in Ipswich on 1A north of town. It's quite awful.
prudenceb
You guys shouLd just decide where you want to go and forget about my location request. If I make it I make it, if I don't I don't. Serves me right for living where I do!
