David M
Very interested in what favorites folks may be using particularly in the Apple environment? Comments on "user firednliness" also appreciated.Cheers!David
SeaKayakNE
David, I really like the Marine Weather APP by The Weather Channel. Very friendly interface that you can get water tempts, tide perdictions, buoy reports and radar. It's become my primary weather app for day to day use and for paddling. Inverseyourself
Earth NC charts looks interesting in the App store. It gets excellent reviews by boaters. I'm ready to buy but would like to get some feedback first. Mike, have you used this in route planning or on the water? Does this work like a GPS where you can see your position projected onto the chart?
mhabich
Andy, I haven't used it on the water, but you could. Yes, it shows your location on the chart and will track your route and speed like any GPS. It's good on iPad as well. Have a look at the online chart viewer on your computer ( from EarthNC site) and you'll have a sense of what the app does. If you prefer vector charts, you could consider Navionics (subscription required).
