Gcosloy Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Good news: Last evening the Kittery Town Council approved the work necessary to preserve the Wood Island Lifesaving Station. This has culminated a 5 year effort by a private group known as the Wood Island Lifesaving Station Association, which has raised to date $700,000. for this effort. Eventually, a small maritime museum will be created on the Island and a pier for boats. This is only one of two Lifesaving Stations that are left in the coastal US waters. Quote
