  1. As a coincidence - Christopher Crowhurst has an article about the quest for the perfect Geenland paddle in the just released issue of Ocean Paddler magazine. I immediately thought of you when I read it.
  2. For the past few weeks, several NH members, who for various reasons can't get to the weekly Walden Pond or Chebacco Lake practice sessions, have started a Tuesday after-work session. Because of all the venues available in S. NH and to try to make it convenient for members to attend, the locations of the practices are proposed by the attendees and change each week. The past two weeks have seen us working on skills at Pawtuckaway Lake and the Merrimack River. Yesterday, we decided a salt water practice session was in order. Three enthusiastic NH members arrived at the Odiorne boat launch ready to work on some skills. Instead of stopping along the beaches in Little Harbor to do some practicing, the sea lured us to poke our noses out and check the conditions. When we saw nothing but 1-2 ft. rollers coming in, Bill thought it would be a great time to give Dave some ocean time in his Bahiya . We paddled up the coast to Great Common, and Bill got some rolling practice in. . The water was cold! After pausing to enjoy the view, we worked our way back to the launch, passing on paddling tips and kayaking info, both historical and contemporary; it was the perfect way to end the day. The next session will be on Tuesday, July 15th and will be at Robinsons Pond in Hudson.
  3. Great time on the ocean yesterday - pictures to follow. I hope more paddlers will join us!
  4. Market Basket is a definite - very convenient!
  5. I could get there around 4:30 if all goes as planned.
  6. What time is everyone getting there tomorrow?
  7. Safe travels! Have a blast and take lots of pictures! We will look forward to hearing about all of your adventures.
  8. I am sorry I missed yesterday's practice - glad you both had a good time. An idea for a future session might be a salt venue (tide dependent) - launch out of Odiorne and go up to the beaches in Little Harbor. Great place to practice and if conditions are right, the Wentworth Bridge can have some good currents. As always, close for some, far for others. I have heard of people practicing in Great Pond in Kingston, but I haven't been there.
  9. Thought I could make it tonight, but am running way behind schedule and am going to have to pass. Have fun!
  10. As of right now, I am pretty sure I will be joining you.
  11. The Gordon Brown series touches on a wide variety of basic skills and the scenery where the videos are filmed is breathtaking!
  12. Dave, Thanks so much for putting this together. It was a great practice session, and the water temp. was perfect for getting wet. I am looking forward to the next session!
  13. Would love to, but will be away this weekend.
  14. I'm in for the 24th at P-tuck. It is always possible to launch groups from both places and meet in the middle - not that I want to add complications.
  15. I would LOVE to get together with others for practice sessions in NH. Both of the places currently used for sessions are almost a two hour drive for me. I could do any night but Thursday as I hope to get to an occaisional surf session. Pawtuckaway Lake is another option, launching out of Fundy Cove off of Deerfield Rd. In Nottingham,.
  16. Fabulous trip report, Pru! I am heading there for the first time next weekend and hope my experience is as delightful as yours.
  17. Pru, I always look forward to your trip reports! They are so entertaining and you do such a nice job portraying the highlights of the day. We are so fortunate to belong to a group that fosters education and skill developent so freely. The classroom sessions and Sunday's on the water session were incredible learning experiences. My deepest thanks to all involved in planning and presenting these sessions - i have learned so much!
  18. Thanks, Doug, for organizing all the pool sessions - I appreciate all the time and effort you put in to arranging them. It's a shame Ipswich didn't work out; they have a beautiful pool as well as nice locker rooms with HOT water! I, too, am glad that Portsmouth is back for next year.
  19. I am amazed at the wealth of knowledge imparted in the past two CAM session. Many thanks to Scott, Peter, Suz, and Rick for giving up their valuable time to help us become better and more sea worthy paddlers. Peter, the venue couldn't have been better - thanks for arranging it!
  20. Pru, I always enjoy your trip reports, and I love the name you bestowed the group! We will live vicariously through Warren and David. It felt so great to be on the water again and the company was supurb.
