Sounds like an amazing weekend!

See full calendar listing below. Hope to see you there!

Interesting... I just posted and it didn't ask for a Captcha. Where did you run into that?

Want to make sure you are getting the best of NSPN? Make sure we have your up-to-date email address associated with your message board account, so you don't miss out on club-wide emails (and message board alerts, if you use those).
To update it, go to the top right corner where you see your name, drop down menu to "Account Settings", then option "Email Address". Easy!
See you on the water,
Janet

Jonathan it would be really cool to see photos of the process, too, if you have time to document it!

Hi Alex
I'm free both days and would be interested in paddling with you, weather permitting! Only been to RI once so anywhere is good with me.
-
I'm 5'7 and paddle other low-ish volume boats (Atlantic LV, regular Avocet) but found both the Cetus LV and Scorpio LV too snug for comfort.
-
While I have little interest in the crossing, I would love to get a ride out and paddle around!
-
Not too late to join us on zoom! We are just getting started.

Bummer. Looks like he just added another date

Moulton Avery from the Center for Cold Water Safety is hosting 2 free Zoom sessions on cold water safety in conjunction with the Chesapeake Paddlers Association. The sessions are free but advanced sign up is required as the events are limited to 100. Sign up to get the Zoom link emailed to you.
(Per Moulton, ignore the place where it says $5 at the door)

I have a RAB one I got I think on steep and cheap or somewhere similar a few years ago for hiking - you may want to check some of those deals sites. Have used it a couple times (including once to fix a tire on a winter MTB ride!). Maybe I should bring it kayaking too.

On January 23, NC-based kayaker, author, and outdoor educator Brett Friedman will be hosting a presentation on "The importance of big trips". Join us with your questions and big dreams. See calendar listing or below for Zoom link (hint: save the link in case the NSPN message forum is down that day!)
---
After 10 years of dreaming Brett Friedman felt he had waited long enough. In 2011 he completed a long time goal and kayaked the Inside Passage of Alaska. It opened his eyes to the importance of doing audaciously big outdoor adventures. Join us on January 23rd at 3pm to find out why big trips are important, and how to make your own dream trips happen.

About Brett: For the past twenty years Brett Friedman has fought a losing battle with an addiction to kayaking in Alaska, while working as an outdoor educator, guide and author. Brett's work is focused on helping people getting started with outdoor adventures while building a connection to the natural world they are adventuring in. You can find him on YouTube at Adventure Otaku.

For feet - if you spray them with antiperspirant before putting on your socks, they get less sweaty and stay warmer!

Looking forward to seeing everyone soon. Let me know if any last minute change in plans.

Friday looks to be nice conditions and I'd like to paddle. Planning to launch at Riverhead beach at 10am sharp. Please bring appropriate winter clothing, sea kayak with deck-lines/flotation, lunch (suggest Thanksgiving leftovers). Mask to wear while at launch and landing required and please stay home if you have COVID symptoms or exposure. Route dependent on interests of group but maybe to Children's Island / Gooseberrys? This will be a cooperative adventure, not a led trip.
Please post interest here and PM me if we've never paddled together before. Happy Thanksgiving!

Ah never mind. I thought this was day AFTER!
-
Thanks for organizing a great paddle, Jim! It was great to see everyone.
-
In! Thanks Jim
-
Congrats Joe! Very well deserved.
-
Welcome Frederick! Keep an eye on the trips forum - things this time of year tend to be fairy short notice based on conditions. Hope you enjoy your time in MA and that we see you on the water soon.
-
Am interested, but have a more difficult schedule than most, so please don't try to plan around me. Would love to come if it works out.

HI Paul
Our Zoom account is limited to 100 participants. I don't think it will be a problem.
