  1. Thank you very much for your insight, Warren. I am definitely not ready to go surfing solo and probably never will...surf solo. Can't wait for spring!
  2. Thank you John. Anything on the North Shore?
  3. Hmmm...maybe in the form of a riddle?
  4. Please, someone tell me where the standing waves are !
  5. All of the above minus BCU 4* assessment and kayak-expeditioning....and I (unfortunately !!!) don't have a Kayak-Pro Speed Stroke. Storm roll on and off-side, in conditions. But how to practice latter...? Paddle unbelievably much more than in 2013.
  6. Might interest you, Mark: http://www.nspn.org/forum/topic/9722-kokatat-mens-gmer-drysuit-new-with-tags/ I feel like a fish wife Happy New Year! Andy
  7. Mark, talking about collecting cold water gear. Check this out:http://www.nspn.org/forum/topic/9683-gotta-go/ and http://www.nspn.org/forum/topic/9722-kokatat-mens-gmer-drysuit-new-with-tags/
  8. Unfortunately, I'll be working the rest of the week, but on weekends ( except the coming one) I'm always up for a paddle in Salem Sound or wherever. Sorry about the negative reply this time. Andy
  9. With a longer boat you'll be able to spend more time with your wife after you get home earlier from your outings due to the higher speed of a longer boat (i.e.sea kayak).
  10. 5 miles against a strong headwind and tidal flow as fast as you can... sounds like a lot of adrenaline flowing and a lot of mental focus on technique suppressing any minor pain due to muscle injury to your obliques, which were likely used more vigorously in such conditions than in a less demanding environment, priming them for a second small injury acquired during (good technique) rolling, the sum adding up to your pain. Just my 2 cents after having done countless hardcore workouts that felt great at the time but that I was punished for afterwards.
  11. until

I plan to attend Thanks Andy Schoeck
  12. Welcome Mark Like you I'm new to NSPN and very eager to get out there, rain, snow or shine. Safety is foremost of course! I'm always excited to go on trips but also to practice rescues (because everyone lands in the drink at some point). I'm located in Topsfield, feel free to contact me (apschoeckataoldotcom)if you have the right cold water apparel. Andy
  13. Peter, by "out there" I meant "into conditions", not "out of conditions". Feeble attempt at humor. )))
  14. Doesn't "Small craft advisory" mean "We advise that you get your small craft out there ASAP"? Just askin' Happy Thanksgiving!
  15. Sounds great to me! Will join if wife finds babysitter for the kids. Tucks to islands sounds inviting. Rocks?
  16. Cathy: Thank you so much for initiating this great trip. It was a fantastic day with fun people on the water ! Peter: Thanks again for helping me out. Doug: Great pictures, thanks! Everyone: What type of gelcoat product are you using? I am thinking of the Evercoat Premium Gel-Kote (fiberglass looks untouched). Any suggestions? (Note: This has nothing to do with anything I did yesterday )
  17. 10 AM is good for me. Could you give me directions to Bug, please?
  18. Thanks for posting to my post to see your post, this post is in response to that post. I'm extremely interested. Just let me know how to get to the launch and I'll be there. Hope Rob's neck has recovered further!
  19. It looks like no one is initiating any ocean trips for the upcoming "warm" weekend. In case anyone is thinking about it but worried that no one will sign up, I am up for anything! In case anyone in the greater Topsfield area is interested in playing around on Hoods Pond, I'll be there on both weekend days, family permitting. Hope to see someone else there
  20. Looks like you all had a great paddle. Great contrast between the first and the last picture of the slide show!!!
  21. Oh man, I'm sick and can't make it. Would have been my kind of trip. Next time. Have fun!
  22. Rob, Cathy and Lisa, thank you for a great paddle and introduction to Portsmouth Harbor. Looking forward to many more kayak outings with you guys!
